How do I print NetStamps?
Printing NetStamps takes only a few steps. Click here for instructions.
Can I print NetStamps on any printer?
Generally yes. NetStamps are designed to be printed on most laser and inkjet printers. Since a single sheet of NetStamps can contain up to 25 unique pieces of postage, printing NetStamps sheets can require more printer memory than printing a single piece of Internet Postage or a Shipping Label.
We highly recommend that when using a new printer you ALWAYS do a full sheet "Print Sample" of NetStamps on ordinary paper to ensure your printer has sufficient memory. Most laser printers and newer printers (within the last 5 years) will not have a problem. If you have an older ink jet printer or older laser printer (e.g, HP Laserjet I or II) you may find that you cannot print NetStamps with it.
Is there an additional cost to using NetStamps?
The total cost is your normal service fee for the pricing plan you have chosen, plus the cost of postage and the NetStamps label sheets. There is no additional service fee cost to use the NetStamps feature of Stamps.com.
Where do I buy NetStamps labels?
You can purchase NetStamps label sheets at a low cost directly from Stamps.com Store. NetStamps labels can be purchased in 5 sheet packs (125 labels) or 250 sheet packs (6,250 labels). NetStamps cost approximately $0.03 to $0.04 per label.
Why do you need labels? Why can't I just print the NetStamps on the envelope/package?
For reasons of security, each NetStamps label sheet has a unique serial number. In order for your NetStamps postage to be valid, the serial number that prints with the postage must match the serial number pre-printed on the label sheet. Therefore, you must use NetStamps label sheets, which have serial numbers, when you print NetStamps postage.
Do I have to print a whole sheet of NetStamps at once?
No. NetStamps are designed to be flexible, you can print a partial sheet or a full sheet. If you only need a few, deselect the checkbox next to “All”, and specify the number of NetStamps you wish to print. When you need more NetStamps, select your starting label by clicking on it in the picture of your NetStamps sheet on the right side of the window, then select the number of labels you wish to print this time. Using the partial sheet function makes printing a NetStamps sheets with multiple postage values extremely easy. Some customers find that when printing on the same sheet multiple times that printing labels from the bottom of the sheet to the top reduces the amount of curling that can happen with some printers.
Can I 'mix and match' traditional stamps and NetStamps labels on a single mail piece?
Yes. You can combine different types of postage on the same mail piece. Traditional stamps, metered mail, and online postage can be mixed as long as it adds up to the correct postage amount. For optimal speed in processing and delivery of your mailpiece, the U.S. Postal Service® recommends putting the largest denomination in the uppermost right corner.
What is the proper orientation when using NetStamps on an envelope, flat or package?
NetStamps are designed to be put on a mail piece in a vertical orientation. To make processing easier for the U.S. Postal Service, the proper location is in the top right corner of the mailpiece. Folding or bending NetStamps over the top of envelopes may delay processing and delivery of your mailpiece.
Why does the design disappear when I print NetStamps?
NetStamps labels use a special heat-sensitive ink that may cause the design to temporarily disappear when it passes through a printer. If it disappears, the design will reappear in a few minutes when the paper cools.
Do I have to use the Stamps.com software to print addresses on my envelopes and labels?
No. Because NetStamps does not require you to enter an address to print postage, you can use any method of addressing your envelopes and labels that you prefer.
How do I print out addresses?
If you wish to print out the delivery address, you can use a standard Word Processor, labeling software, hand-write the address, or any other method that you wish for addressing the item. Alternatively, you can use the Internet Postage feature, which prints out the delivery address with the postage.
Can I send International Mail with NetStamps?
Yes you can. If you know the amount of postage needed, simply print a NetStamp for that amount. If you don't know the postage amount you need, you can use the International Rate Calculator on our website or from the "Tips & Tools" tab within the Stamps.com software. Please note that most countries have different requirements and restrictions on what items, package sizes, and forms required to be completed prior to your mailing.
Can I use the NetStamps on windowed, pre-printed, and hand-written envelopes?
Yes. Since NetStamps does not require you to enter an address to print postage, you can conveniently use NetStamps on any windowed or pre-printed envelope as you would a traditional stamp.
Can I use NetStamps for fulfillment?
Yes. We have a number of customers who have found NetStamps the ideal solution for their fulfillment needs. They typically send similar sized/weight items using a few classes of mail. They typically purchase a 250 sheet pack of NetStamps available from the Stamps.com Store and will print out a number of sheets for each combination of weight and class of mail they use. They then apply the NetStamps label in their fulfillment/assembly line as they prepare several hundred packages at a time.
Please note that we do not recommend printing large numbers of NetStamps sheets on an ink jet or older laser printer. Netstamps require more printer memory than Internet Postage or Shipping Labels. Using a newer laser printer will help make your fulfillment process more efficient leaving you time for other more productive activities. We highly recommend that when using a new printer you ALWAYS do a full sheet "Print Sample" of NetStamps on ordinary paper to ensure your printer has sufficient memory.
How do I print multiple sheets at once? How do I do a mass mailing?
Because each NetStamps label sheet has a unique serial number, it is necessary to enter a new serial number into the software every time you print with a new NetStamps label sheet (each NetStamps sheet contains 25 labels). Please ensure that the pre-printed serial number and the software-printed serial number on your NetStamps postage match. This will ensure that your postage is valid.
We are currently working with the USPS® to create a solution for printing NetStamps on Stamps.com or DYMO LabelWriters, which would make printing larger volumes of postage quicker and more convenient.
I have a Stamps.com or DYMO LabelWriter. Do you have rolls of NetStamps labels available?
Stamps.com is happy to announce the introduction of our new NetStamps Roll (SDC-500) product. All the convenience and flexibility of NetStamps
sheets is now available in an easy-to-use roll.
